• Jim Hunter, President Cub Run Builders

    Jim was born at Fort Knox, Kentucky into an Army family and got the opportunity to move a lot during his childhood. His father was stationed in Japan, Korea, Germany, and Viet Nam along other State side locales. Jim lived in Arlington, Virginia longer than anywhere else while he was growing up. Jim earned the rank of Eagle Scout while his father was stationed at the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. He graduated from high school in Frankfurt, Germany.

    Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Virginia in 1972. Immediately after college, he worked as a bartender for a year at an Alexandria, Virginia restaurant. While on a Summer long motorcycle trip out West, Jim got the opportunity to work on a log house being built in the Coastal Mountains of California. He was hooked on construction.

    Jim returned to Alexandria and worked for four years for R. I. Kellogg and Daughters Construction Company before founding Cub Run Builders in 1977. He has been married to a wonderful woman for over 40 years and has adult twin children, one of each variety. Jim assists his church with buildings and grounds issues and projects.
